Summer is almost over... But it's been fun and busy! We've had lots of birthdays, cookouts, and days at the park. This summer was lots different from last summer because we got to do so many new things with Jax! He had many new experiences like going to the lake, bouncing around at Pump It Up, going to the zoo, swimming, swinging in his swing, eating homemade ice cream, and starting daycare for the first time.
It's amazing that this time last year he was still on oxygen, and the home health nurse was coming out 2 or 3 times a week to monitor him.
He isn't walking on his own yet, but his pediatrician had originally told us he probably wouldn't walk until 18-20 months, due to the extent of his prematurity. He'll walk behind his toys all night long, but he hasn't quite figured out how to let go! I'm hoping he'll pick up walking fairly quickly, now that he's around other kids that are walking.
At his checkup last month, he was 19 pounds. He's still below the 5th percentile for weight, but he weighs more than I did at his age, and I wasn't a preemie, so I think he's doing just fine.
I finished up my first semester back in school and made a 98 in my class. This fall I have a Saturday morning class and a Monday night class, so at least I get to see Jax more during the week!
Eric played in a summer 3-on-3 basketball league and is planning on playing again this fall/winter and coaching a little girls' team.
I think that about wraps it up for now!
