I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I have lots of pictures to post, but I keep forgetting my camera cord at work, so you'll just have to wait! We are ringing in the new year in scrapbookin' style tonight, and I hope you all have a blessed new year! I'll add some pictures Friday.
Friday will also be my last day at work. I'm feeling a variety of emotions about it ranging from anxious to excited, sad to happy, and everywhere in between. I will be a full-time student, and my schedule wouldn't really allow me to keep my current job, so I'll be studying and, hopefully, working a part-time job somewhere.
We ask that you keep us in your prayers as we are making some huge changes in our lives!
Love,
Lisa, Eric, and Jax

Way Back Wednesday

So, I decided to hop on the Way Back Wednesday boat. What you're supposed to do is post something from "way back when". This is a picture I found from my dance team days in college. This was the day of tryouts my sophomore year, not to mention 15 lbs ago! That's me down on my knees on the front left side. Those were my favorite sunglasses for a long time. I know you're all wishing you could have bangs like that, but what can I say? I was stylin'.

Cookies, concerts, Christmas parties!
What a weekend!
Friday night we attended a Christmas cookie decorating party that some friends of ours from church threw for the kids. Jaxson liked adding sprinkles to his cookie, so by the time he was done, you could barely see the cookie underneath! Santa came to the party and brought goodies for the kids. He had lots of fun! After we left, I had to study for my Anatomy final, which was Saturday morning. I'm very happy to be done with Saturday classes! I love school, but Saturday classes are definitely not my thing! Afterwards, I made a couple of quick stops to swap Jaxson's new shoes for a different size, get Jax a Santa hat, grab some groceries at Publix, and get my hair cut. We had pictures at 3:00. I am very excited because I think Lori did an amazing job! If you get a chance you can view our pictures by clicking here. Jaxson stayed with Eric's mom (Nay-Nay), and Eric and I met up with some friends for dinner and went to the Casting Crowns Christmas Celebration. It was absolutely amazing! We were blown away! We both love Casting Crowns, and they put on an awesome show with the help of Avalon, Natalie Grant, and Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, and Michael English. Sunday afternoon we took Jaxson to the NICU Christmas party. The staff of St. Vincent's hosts this annual gathering for their former patients to see their former podmates, doctors, and nurses. We rushed home and baked cookies to take to some of our friends' annual Christmas Vacation party. We ate great food and had great fellowship! In my opinion, the fellowship is the most exciting part of the holidays! (And of course the food is a very close second!)
I almost forgot to mention the SEC Championship game was Saturday. Alabama lost. So much for the possibility of a National Championship this year. Darn. I hate that. I hope you can detect the sarcasm because I don't think there was anyone in the restaurant as happy as we were!
I'll post some pics in a bit. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!!

VACATION!!!
We had a great time in Gatlinburg! It was my first time to go! We stayed in a beautiful, three-story cabin complete with a theater room, pool table, hot tub, sauna, plasma TV, the works! It was very reasonably priced, and we will definitely be going back!
We ate at lots of great places including AppleWood Farmhouse Restaurant (aka Apple Barn), Park Grill, The Chop House, Pancake Pantry, and the Log Cabin Pancake House. We did lots of shopping and took the kids to Ripley's Aquarium.
We got home Wednesday, just in time to cook a few things for Thursday. We had Thanksgiving with my family on Thursday. It was so delicious!
And if you know me, you know I had to make my annual Black Friday shopping trip. I look forward to it for months. This year it was my sister-in-law (Kristi), my cousin (Cam), and I. We started at Garden Ridge at 2:30, which was great because there was no one there that early in the morning! Then we racked up deals at Goody's, Target, Kohl's, Circuit City, The Children's Place, and New York & Company. I was so tired when we got through! Not to mention we celebrated Thanksgiving with Eric's family Friday afternoon!
Saturday, was the Iron Bowl. I won't go into any detail about that, especially considering I didn't watch a single play during the whole game!
We enjoyed our time off, and it was definitely tough returning to work! I posted a slideshow of some of our pictures:
